Today I have three tips that will help give you an edge when it comes to negotiating a home sale.
1. You’ve got to know before you go. Begin with the end in mind. If you do this, it takes away a lot of the emotion out of negotiating a home sale. Negotiating a home sale shouldn’t be personal.
2. Know your motivation. If you’ve got an ulterior motive, make sure you keep it to yourself. You want the other side of the transaction to know as little about you as possible because that gives us the most leverage as we undergo negotiations.
3. Don’t get greedy. Typically, the first offer you get is the best offer, so don’t be greedy and wait for the next best thing and risk losing your best offer for the idea of another one.
